Auto Losses Past the GFC Peak. Cards Almost There. Credit Unions Already at GFC Loss Rates. NY Fed + NCUA Data Now on Tigzig.

Published: June 8, 2026

The NY Fed's and NCUA's aggregate loss / delinquency data comes out as a spreadsheet. Pain to analyze. So I pulled the data, disaggregated it by quarter, validated it, and loaded it into a database, with an interface on top plus an API and an MCP layer.

Now you can run the cuts yourself on tigzig.com → TREMOR or have your AI agent run it for you on your Claudes, Codex's Cursors... Just point it at api.tigzig.com and it figures out the rest.

And the data is talking ... loudly.

Bank charge-offs look just about fine on the surface, but the pressure is coming just a step away from the banks. NY Fed and Credit unions aggregates show it plainly. Auto losses past the GFC peak, cards almost there. Credit unions are running loss rates last seen during the GFC period - overall, consumer, and cards. The card book has already pushed past its 2009 peak. And banks keep funding non-bank lenders.... $1.65T to non-banks in Q1, up 42% in five quarters.
