# Claude Cowork and Claude Code Have Quietly Become My Universal Front End. More Than Excel, Jupyter or Colab.

Published: 2026-06-18

First-person guide on running almost the whole analysis-and-modeling pipeline from one place. For the author, Claude Cowork (and Claude Code) have quietly become the universal front end - past Excel, Jupyter and Colab - covering exploration, cleaning, ensembles, hyperparameter tuning, validation, and final presentation deck. Each iteration is shared as HTML reviewed in the browser, so a session ends with both a model AND full documentation written as work progressed. Same flow works for database-connected analysis, not just model builds. Excel work goes through Claude in Excel or Cowork; PowerPoint too. Full-stack builds stay on Claude Code. The difficult part was letting go: after years of notebooks and code editors, with the comfort of code you can touch and feel, stepping back to talk into a chat box and review the results took some getting used to. Once you let go, it is way faster and gives much better results, since the human focuses on validations, logic, business and domain pieces - the places where an AI agent still needs guidance. Includes a 23-slide deck that Cowork put together about itself: chat -> coworker shift, desktop + Code teammate, hitting APIs (FRED, Yahoo Finance), reaching backends via MCP, working files in place, cleaning messy spreadsheets, 11.85M-row / 1.6GB analyses in 13 seconds, EDA-as-browser-page iteration loop, gradient-boosting model builds with ROC / gains, A/B significance tests, packaging as HTML/PDF/Word/PPT/Excel, live dashboards that pull fresh data, real URL fetching (not snippets), scheduled briefings, browser/desktop control, cross-session memory, sandbox toolkit (4GB RAM / 10GB disk / pandas / polars / pyarrow / scikit-learn / matplotlib / OpenCV / Pillow), no-code-on-your-machine handoff to Claude Code, and Anthropic's own resources (Cowork product, best-practices guide, the HTML-beats-Markdown post, computer-use docs). Deck self-built in Cowork as HTML then exported to PDF.
